The Borax flux cone from Betts Metals is an essential flux tool for soldering gold and silver. When combined with water using a borax dish ( TOOLSBDISH ), it creates a highly effective flux. The cone is used with a flat-bottomed borax dish by adding a small amount of water and rubbing the bottom of the cone in a circular motion. This produces a smooth, dense paste ideal for soldering.
Our borax cones are made from compact, dried flux, ensuring durability and efficiency. After use, the cone will dry out and can be reused multiple times, eventually generating enough flux for thousands of joints.
